Here are a couple of new paintings which I managed to finish in between all the other stuff!  I had my first tutorial and lecture last week.   It was certainly stimulating and it is going to stretch my brain somewhat, which is great.  I found the tutorial really helpful with lots of discussion about risk, unlearning and dismantling oneself!  Lots of book suggestions, so I don’t think I shall be reading many novels for a while!  I am not sure what I think about Post Modernism though… any thoughts?

New Mexico is glorious in the autumn and every year I am drawn to paint these beautiful trees. This painting I think is freer than usual. I found myself enjoying the brush strokes more than I usually do. What’s happening?!!

Here are couple of new paintings. Every now and again I get the urge to paint something from New Mexico. It’s the skies that I particularly love to paint. So much scope for playing with glazes. These are the first sky paintings I have done for a long time.

Barry’s workshop finished yesterday. Always an exhausting and rewarding experience.
